S.O.A.P. Method

During small group time, your small group leader may utilize the S.O.A.P. method to guide the discussion. S.O.A.P. is an acronym that stands for:

  • Scripture

  • Observation

  • Application

  • Prayer

We want to give you more information about this method of study in case you're not familiar with it.

S-Scripture

Your small group leader will be given a Bible passage that connects to the sermon. He or she will guide you to read this scripture before moving on to the following steps.

O-Observation

Once everyone has had enough time to meditate on the passage, your small group leader will ask you to jot down and discuss one or two key observations you noticed about the passage.

A-Application

After everyone has discussed their observations your group will discuss how to apply what they learned.

P-Prayer

Your small group leader will then guide the group through a prayer reflecting on the discussion. Feel free to ask for prayer requests during this time. We would love to pray with you!
